Christmas with Hyrum and Parley

We kept Hyrum and Parley while Brooke and Teancum went to the movies on Christmas.  We had a lot of fun with the boys, they both have their personalities and we enjoyed playing with them.  And the best part of being grandparents, we then sent them home with Mom and Dad.

We were also able to see Sarah, Nathan, Makyale, Paige, and Carter with Skype and spend some time with them on Christmas day.  Technology is so great!!!!

We found these hats for them, cool, huh?

Parley

Here are some new pictures of Parley, one from tonight at dinner. The others are from the past week.  We got him a new jacket and he is so funny when Brooke puts it on him, he won't move.  It is hard to believe he is almost one!

Our Grandkids - A Thanksgiving Day Blessing

While in AZ we had an opportunity to get this picture of all our grandkids.  It is so fun having these little ones around and to watch them develop their personalities.  We love them so much and are so blessed to not only have these kids but our daughters and their husbands in our family.

Here is our Paige!  She is showing us that she lost her first tooth!  I hear that the tooth fairy is giving out dollar bills now.  What a cutie pie.

Here is our little Parley.  He looks just like his mom, Brooke.  Yes that is his own hair!  Not a wig.  He is 9 months old, probably will start walking soon.

Best Cousins

These two little rugrats had alot of fun together.  You could say they are best buds.  Carter, on the right, is Sarah and Nathan's youngest.  He turned 3 on Nov 2.  Hyrum, on the left is Brooke and Teancum's oldest.  He will be 3 Jan 23.  They were fun to watch play and chase each other.

Makayle's Baptism

Here is our Makayle bean.  This picture was taken after her baptism.  Can't believe she is 8 years old!  She was baptized in Sahuarita Az, by her dad, Nathan.  Grandma and Grandpa Taylor were teary eyed before it even started.  Her baptism happened at the end of their visit to the US.  It wasn't as hard to say goodbye this time, as it was at first.

We missed the fall colors again!

We took a short drive today to the back side of Mt. Timpanogos and the Sundance resort.  It was pretty and cold.  We have had a couple of storms and many of the trees have lost their color.
This is the back of Mt. Timpanogos and the glacier.  There are a lot of cabins in the area as well as Robert Redford's home.

Huntington Creek

Went today to Huntington Creek just below the dam of Electric Lake.  This is really a beautiful place to fish.  The trees are in full color.  This picture is not great, but all I had was my iPhone.

Another milestone - I get a senior citizen discount at the movies!

Having grandkids is great, but having 3 in Germany is difficult. This gift from Brooke, Teancum, and the boys is great!...  We are really looking forward to having Sarah, the Bishop, and their family here soon.  Tomorrow is fishing!

Sewing, my passion!

I have been sewing since I was 11-12 years old. Sometimes I can't get enough. If I had to get out my house quickly, I would grab my sewing machines. ( I have 4 of them). Only within the last 4-5 years, I really have been into quilting. This is the first quilt that I have actually finished. My friend Martha, told me about "Saturday Sampler" at a local quilt shop. We go on the 2nd Saturday of the month, get our kit, and have a until the following month to put it together. We don't know what the quilt looks like for a year! So far I have really liked the quilts we have done.
Here is the Saturday Sampler quilt I finished this past July, "Americana".  My favorite so far.  We have started on the 3rd one, but won't know what it looks like until June of next year!
I have made quilts for all my grandchildren.  Here is the most recent for Parley.  In this picture, I think he is about 2 months.  And do you notice the hair?  He has already had 2 haircuts.  He is 6 months old now.
This is a "toy holder" that I started making for my grandkids.  I have also made some for a baby gift and I did 3 for a woman in my ward for her  grandkids.  So if you are interested, give me a call and we can talk.

A Great Walk Ruined By A Little White Ball

Had a day off and went to Hobble Creek to play golf, this is one of the best public golf courses I have played. One of the reasons I wanted to move to this area. Along with the fishing. The turkeys live on the east end of the course.

Pioneer Day Holiday

David, LeAnn, and Jayton visited over the Pioneer Day holiday in Utah. Yes, there is a state holiday to honor the arrival by the pioneers to the Salt Lake valley. We had a great time during their visit. While they were here, David, Jayton, and Teancum and I went shooting at my local range. Check out the video.

Great Vacation

Last week we spent some time in the Sawtooth Wilderness just outside of Stanley, ID, population of 100! We 'camped' near town in a forest area along Iron Creek. Great time!

Welcome to our Blog

With the prompting of our children we are starting to 'blog'. We hope to keep up with our friends and family.
